January 2019

The start of a new year also means the beginning of a new line-up of video gaming goodness about to release over the next twelve months.
While we await some Triple A titles confirmed to be due this year; Metro Exodus, Crackdown 3, Devil May Cry 5, Mortal Kombat 11, Anthem – just to name a few and we are already beginning to see some trickling through in January.

It's been twelve years since we took to the skies in Ace Combat. Hot off from release date (18th of Jan) Ace Combat 7 has released on major consoles, allowing virtual pilots to take command of the biggest and baddest war planes there ever was. Nintendo are releasing a mashup of two games on 3DS this month; Mario & Luigi + Bowser's Inside Story on 3DS, proving that the 3DS is still alive and well.

For indie there's always a wave of titles and we are totally in the indie gaming era. One to note is a art styled hack n slash; Fimbul from Zaxis Games, due in February for all platforms. A prelude to Ragnarök, the end of the world, the game takes on Nordic mythology and brutal melee combat. Also on the indie scene is a title that actually released December 2018 – but is worthy of note; Bendy and the Ink Machine. A horror puzzle first person based on vintage cartoons from Joey Drew Studios. Slow and paced, but definitely worth a play on iOS and Switch.
