So, what's happening with the event?

The short answer - Auckland Armageddon 2022 is not going to happen. It's dead, it has passed on, this event is no more, it has ceased to be, its expired and gone to see its maker, it's a late event, it's a stiff, bereft of life, its rests in peace, if we hadn't nailed it to its perch it would be pushing up daisies, it's run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible, this is an ex event.

The long answer – well, we tried and tried and tried and tried. We've spent the past year working on this event, building it up and looking forward to returning to as close to a pre-covid event as we could but it's just not going to happen.

We have looked at every venue option in Auckland, reworked plans, revised options – but we have to have the Auckland Showgrounds to make this event work as planned. We have begged, pleaded, publicised, been in the media and talked with everyone involved in the hopes to get in and hold the event in what currently is an empty venue, to no avail.

And so, with the event now three weeks away, this is as far as we can stretch it without some new updates and progress which we have not gotten despite all our efforts - so we must officially pull the plug. Thanks for all your support in this, having so many exhibitors and supporters behind us has meant a lot and shows how important this event is to the community and businesses alike!

So what's next for Auckland? Honestly, we don't know as the venues fate still seems very uncertain. We are hoping to hold events in 2023 but won't have possible dates for the next year for some time yet. However, if the Showgrounds goes the way of the parrot, well, that's a very different problem and one that we will face if it happens.

Once again, thank you for all your support! While this will be a huge hit for us (and many of you as well), we will endure and move forward as best we can in the hopes that when we meet again in Auckland the event will be more than we can dream of!
